Range bound movement was
there in the market today. Equity benchmarks continued to be directionless due
to lack of global and domestic cues. The Sensex fell 36 points to 25586 and the
Nifty declined 3 points to 7787. Global financial services major UBS
today said it is "overweight" on India but sees limited room for a
re-rating and forecast an end-2016 Nifty target of 8,200. Limited room for a

Domestic markets slipped tracking weak trend
seen in Asian markets after data on Friday showed China's factory activity
shrank for a 10th straight month in December. Reacting to the news, China's
benchmark CSI300 share index dipped 7 per cent on the first session of 2016 on Monday, prompting the
stock exchange to halt trading for the rest of the day. The Sensex tumbled 537 points to end below its crucial
psychological level of 26000 in trade on Monday, while broader Nifty also
settled below its key support level of 7800.

OPTIONS TO RIDE OUT CHOPPY ; EXPIRY DAY
Nifty tad below 7900 ahead of F&O expiry, Sensex falls 119 ptsWeakness in global markets also caused selling pressure in Indian equities. European equities slipped into negative territory as investors fretted over renewed weakness in global commodity markets. Asian markets closed mixed. The Nifty shut shop below psychological 7900-mark ahead of expiry of December derivative contracts. Shares of Infosys, TCS, Reliance Industries, State Bank of India, Maruti Suzuki, Wipro and Hero Motocorp were down 1-1.6 percent while ITC, Tata Motors, Tata Steel, NTPC and BHEL gained 0.5-1 percent.

Options Settlement is the process by which the
obligations between the holder and writer of an options contract are resolved
after the contract is exercised. Settlement can happen under 2 circumstances;
Voluntary exercise by the holder or automatic exercise upon expiration. In an
options trade, the buyer of the option pays the option price or the option
premium. The options seller has to deposit an initial margin with the clearing
member as he is exposed to unlimited losses. Settlement in options trading is
the process where the terms of an options contract are resolved between the
holder and the writer. In options trading, the holder is the one who owns an
options contract and a writer is the person who sold the holder that options
contract.

TRADE STATS AND MARKET SUMMARY OF 24 DEC 2015
Market was completely range-bound
throughout the day, domestic shares today ended almost flat with marginal
losses pulled down by banking shares after a RBI report raised concerns over
corporate vulnerability and bad loans. The Sensex ended lacklustre session on a
weak note, slips 12 points to close at 25839 and Nifty declines 5 points to
shut shop at 7861.
